Zealand Scones
Judy
L., Whitianga, New Zealand makes scones that you'll rave about!
- 3 cups flour
- 4 1/2 tsp. baking
powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 oz. butter
- pinch of Cayenne
pepper
- 1 cup grated cheese
- about 1 cup of
milk
- 1 TBS chopped garlic
(optional)
- 2 TBS crumbled
feta cheese (optional)
Sift
the dry ingredients together, add the butter and 3/4 cup cheese. Add milk
and mix into soft dough. Roll or pat dough into scones and place 1"
apart on a baking sheet. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Bake at
220 Celsius (350 F) and bake until golden.
